Some Sane, Good News for a Change

As the nation continues to swirl around the cesspool of moral depravity on its way down the drain, it's nice to get a little bit of good news for a change.  When Christians speak out and are able to rally their unbelieving neighbors to agree to put the brakes on the insanity, it is an example of the salt we are supposed to be in our world, preserving what is good and preventing further rot.  Last week, the citizens of Oklahoma voted against a measure that would have further legalized marijuana.  The campaign to reject it was primarily led by Christian groups.

In other state news, a Christian legislator in Texas has submitted a bill that would promote child bearing and biblical marriage. Liberals are infuriated at the biblical quotes and references included in this bill, as he dubbed it the "Get Married, Stay Married, and Be Fruitful and Multiply" bill.  Please note that this link includes some Twitter posts about the law that may contain some foul language.  The writer embedded them, so I can't take them out, but you can skip over them.

Finally, in good news close to home, the Georgia House today approved a ban on gender transition surgeries for minors.  It will go to the Georgia Senate for approval, then to the governor for signing.  Pray that the bill will pass those hurdles and become law, preventing in Georgia the mutilation of children made in God's image.

Pray that the true church will continue to be salt and light in our world, calling out anything that attacks the sovereignty of our Creator.
