Analysis of Homosexual "Marriage" Bill Moving Forward in the U.S. Senate with "Conservative" Support

Sadly, but not unexpectedly, the U.S. Senate this week voted to move forward with legislation that would enshrine homosexual "marriage" into federal law.  One purpose of this bill is to prevent the Supreme Court from reversing its decision requiring all states to recognize homosexual "marriage," as it did with the Dobbs ruling which reversed the "right" to abortion granted under Roe v. Wade.  The bill also establishes homosexual "marriage" as equal to heterosexual marriage, which we know is the only authentic type of marriage.  Though it claims to have religious "protections" it still pushes the needle closer to punishing anyone who does not recognize or who refuses to participate in these abominations which they dare call marriages.

As expected, all 50 Democrat senators supported the vote to move this bill forward toward floor debate and final passage.  This should be no surprise, as their party platform is dedicated to advancing homosexual causes and the culture of death.  Majority leader Chuck Schumer (NY) gleefully promoted it, especially gloating that he can guarantee "dignity" for his homosexual daughter, her so-called "wife," and their soon-to-be-born daughter that they purchased through surrogacy.  The sad thing is that 12 Republican senators also voted in favor.  Sixty votes were needed to move it forward, and it received 62.  The House of Representatives had already passed it with all 222 Democrats and 47 Republicans voting in favor.  Of course, President Biden has promised to sign it.  This is a sad day as our national legislative body decided they can usurp God by claiming they have a right to redefine what God established.  (See Matthew 19:3-6; Genesis 2:18-25).  This is another step on the downward slope of depravity that Paul describes in Romans 1:18-32.

This Conversations That Matter podcast by Jon Harris contains some excellent analysis about this bill and the normalization of homosexual "marriage."  Particularly insightful are his comments and video archive clips of "conservatives" Glenn Beck and Ben Shapiro, and how their approach to this subject several years ago actually contributed to the problem of growing acceptance of this perversion of God's truth.  He compares their faulty answers (then) to the answers given by Voddie Baucham in his recent interview with Glenn Beck.  

Further, as a bonus, he ends with video footage of a false prosperity teacher/pastor blatantly lying about and slandering Herschel Walker and campaigning from the pulpit to promote and encourage people to vote for "pro-abortion pastor" Raphael Warnock. The hypocrisy and double standard on display are sickening, especially considering that they come from a pulpit. (See Ezekiel 34).
