Man has been on a relentless search for longevity since the Fall. Despite God's declaration that all will die (Genesis 2:15-17; 3:17-19), men and women have desperately tried everything in our power to prolong life and avoid pain and suffering. This attempt is futile, because God's Word is irrevocable. The only cure for the curse of suffering and death is eternal life through Jesus Christ, which is the true meaning of the passage that says "by His wounds we are healed" (Isaiah 53:5; 1 Peter 2:24).

Two recent examples of man's frantic search for a cure-all are the COVID vaccines and the increasing public approval of legalized marijuana. With the COVID vaccine, all normal testing procedures were thrown out the window in order to produce something that works. Normal drug and vaccine testing takes 7-10 years (and sometimes longer) so the scientists and regulators can determine if the drug has harmful side effects and/or unintended consequences. But the fear of death manufactured around COVID persuaded the public to suspend all the logic and reasoning that has accompanied drug testing in the past. Pharmaceutical companies (motivated by greed) and government officials (motivated by power) eagerly jumped at this opportunity to exploit the public for their own gain.

Now, as time passes, we are seeing in the rear view mirror that assurances that these miracle drugs can reverse the effects of the fall are simply that...hollow promises. Things are not turning out as rosy as we were told. Those in power have become more thirsty to expand their control over others. The first article below details the Biden administration's plans to turn over U.S. healthcare decisions to the World Health Organization. This is a dangerous development, as that subsidiary body of the United Nations is most responsible for pushing horrible pandemic policies that did more harm than good. They have also been instrumental in covering up the origins of the virus and the serious side effects of the vaccines.

In the next article, we are starting to see the results of millions of older Americans turning to marijuana and CBD products to relieve pain. I don't have a problem with using some types of pain relievers, as these medical advances can be a gift from God. However, not all pain relievers are made equal, and the legalization of marijuana simply for pain relief seems to be a very dangerous, and slippery slope. The old saying, "the cure is worse than the disease" may be appropriate in this case. The next article spells out some of the consequences our society is already beginning to suffer. I believe that the primary driver behind this is the desire to live a pain-free life. While we do not wish pain on anyone, the Christian is never to do anything that would impair his ability to think, reason, and communicate soberly with God and others (Ephesians 5:15-21).

Finally, our Creator God fearfully and wonderfully made us (Psalm 139:14). Even though cursed with death, God, in His mercy, designed our bodies to be able to resist sickness and to often heal on their own. This article documents the proof that many people were saying at the beginning of the pandemic: that natural immunity is better than any vaccine. Unfortunately, this fact was not convenient to the political, medical, and media powers mentioned above, so they fiercely resisted anyone who tried to get this message out to the public. The truth is finally coming out, and Christians will do well to remember those who were in league with the father of lies in their efforts to silence the truth.
